Hello dear supporters. Here is a brief and long over-due update from Friend’s of Zimbabwe.

All the kids are doing very well and in good health. However they do need new clothes to replace those which no longer fit and are very torn. School fees are also being raised so we will have to include both of those in our budget this month.

The family has various and healthy growing vegetables in the garden and they managed to harvest some maize (corn) even though overall the produce is lower this year due to erratic rains. This year is proving to be a drought year in most parts of the country so maize is not produced as much. Zimbabwe has an agro based economy, therefore the price of mealie–meal has slightly gone up and we can expect it to go up even more as the year proceeds.
