Blessings and Requests

It is pleasing to know that the children at FOZ are doing very well. God has certainly blessed these children and the programs. His work is being shown through their lives, through Suzanna and Phillip, the surrounding community, and overall growth of FOZ. We ask for continued prayer and financial support to carry on this Christ centered change in our brother’s and sister’s lives.

They harvested a great deal of corn which is their main crop and it has served them very well. We have talked to Phillip and he hopes to start a chicken farm with some of the property. Initially we will need some extra finances to do this for the cost of chickens, mobile chicken run (shelter & wire border around the property), and feed. This is a great way for them to use the eggs and chickens for food but also to sell, which is what they do with their vegetables now. It is another small step to becoming more self-sustainable. If you feel led to donate towards this, please put on the check memo “chicken farm” or in a note field when donating through our website via Paypal.

Princess is still doing very well in school and is well behaved. Phillip and Suzanna recently attended the parents consultation with her at school. Its amazing how they have truly taken these children in as their own. Princess suffered from a sore throat, but thankfully after some medication she recovered. These things can become serious over there if not treated so we thank you for your financial support that allows us to have funding for medications in instances like this.

Brian continues to struggle in school, but he is extremely hard working and very responsible. Phillip says without Brian, they would not be able to manage all the duties that are needed around the house. This coming year he may transfer to a trade school with metal work and wood work technology to best suit his skill sets.

Prince is doing well in school and has grown up a lot since last year. They have seen a big change in him. He is now taking public transportation on his own. Phillip and Suzanna have noticed he is not always honest with certain things. They believe it could be due to his abusive past which is always a slow healing process. Please keep him in prayer for this situation. He has had a very rough early childhood and the effects are saddening, but it is nothing God can’t heal and we have seen Him work in his life substantially already!

Thankfully Suzanna’s health has improved tremendously for she was recently pretty sick. She has been a true servant to the house with cleaning and cooking duties. She also has been an amazing, loving mother to these children with care and correction. The children connect with her in a special way and easily open up to her.

Phillip and Suzanna’s son Tefillah is now 4 years old. He will be starting school in September and seems to be a very intelligent young man.

“What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden and it grew and became a tree and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.”   Luke 13:18-19treebird
